Little Greens Farm CSA Agreement (2023 Season)
Please read this carefully and keep for future reference.
This Community Supported Agriculture (“CSA”) Agreement (“Agreement”) governs the terms and conditions of the relationship between Little Greens Farm (“Farmer”) and the CSA Member (“Member”.)
I. Length of Agreement
This CSA program runs for 14 weeks in a normal season, weather permitting there may be more, or less. Our season generally begins around June 14th/21st; weather permitting.
II. Definition of Share and Price
A share will be a fair amount of vegetables per size share the member supports.
Share = $550
III. Delivery – Pickup Location
Member is responsible for meeting Farmer at the market or specified meeting place to pick up share. The pickup locations are:
Hazen - Tuesday, 1:30-2:30pm Across the street from Pretty Petals Flower Shop.
NOTE: Day and Time may change as we approach the season. We will do what we can to stay consistent.
IV. Farmer Responsibilities
A. To work dutifully and in good faith to bring the Member the freshest produce possible during the season.
B. To have produce washed* and packaged for easy transport.
C. To have shares available at the time and date specified.
D. To notify members if there is a change in share delivery time or place.
E. To communicate with Member about weather problems, crop failures, or other factors that impact the contents of the share box.
F. Not to use synthetic/chemical pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, or herbicides on the crops.
*Field washing is only meant to remove the dirt that may be on the produce due to the nature of growing real food.
V. Member Responsibilities
A. To pick up your share at the time and date specified. If you can’t pick up your share, you may have someone else pick up the share for you or designate the share for donation. Please call text or email us to let us know who will be picking up your share. If you or someone you designate doesn’t pick up your share, it will considered forfeit and become the property of the Farmer.
B. To return your share boxes each week for reuse by Farmer. If you come to pick up your share without box from the previous week, you will be charged a $5 box fee. If you have someone else pick up your share and they don’t bring your box you will not be charged for a box fee that week. However, you will be expected to return 2 boxes the following week. Failure to return boxes will result in a $5 fee per missing box.
C. To handle your produce responsibly and safely. This may include, but is not limited to, final washing before eating, refrigeration, cooking, etc.
D. To read, understand, and agree to this document in full upon submitting an application for a membership share.
VI. Refunds and Cancellations
A) Member’s Policy: A member may cancel their share and receive a refund equal to 20% of the original cost of the Share.
No refund of any amount will be given if share is cancelled after the 20th of June.
B) Farmerʼs Policy. At the Farmerʼs discretion, the Farmer may cancel this Agreement at any time for Memberʼs failure to follow their responsibilities as contained in this Agreement. In the event of cancellation by the Farmer, Farmer reserves the right to decide whether to refund any pro rata share of Memberʼs fees. Member will be notified in writing of the reasons for the cancellation.
VII. Risk
In a CSA, Members are supporting their Farmer. To do so, Members share the risks inherent in agriculture (poor weather, drought, flood, early or late frosts, disease or insect problems, crop failure, etc.) and the rewards (abundant production). Member assumes the risk should the Farmer be unable to provide a share, wether in part or in full, due to any inherent risk in farming.
VIII. Communication
Please reach me by email at: LGCSAINFO@gmail.com, or by phone (call or text): 701-226-3778.
IX. Payment
Member MUST pay a minimum of 50% down payment upon submitting application to secure share.
Members will be expected to pay for their share in full prior to the first delivery of their portion of share goods
X. Acceptance of Agreement
By submitting the online or paper form, confirming via email, phone (call or text) or in person, you are agreeing to accept all parts of this agreement in it’s entirety.
