LEARN ABOUT HOW OUR PROGRAM WORKS

At Little Greens Farms, our focus is on growing beautiful, naturally grown produce for our CSA members (And our other customers as well!). Each day we take a survey of our fields, and we harvest the crops that have reached prime quality and are ready to be picked. We pack the produce into boxes for every member and have them ready for pick up at a given location on the appointed drop days. Our CSA season runs for 14 weeks from June into September (maybe even into October weather permitting!).

CSA is a Partnership between the Members and the Farmers
At the core of our CSA program is the idea that members support their farmer by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, disease, early frost, crop failure and so on) and rewards (the bounty from a good season!). Therefore while Little Greens Farms will act in good faith to provide fresh Local produce for the 14-week season, there is no guarantee of quantities or contents of weekly shares.

Our CSA share holders get a box of produce every week during the CSA program. It’s so simple, you pay for your weekly supply of fresh veggies at the beginning of the year and when the time comes for the produce to be picked, you get those veggies, FRESH, on a weekly basis! You may be thinking, “but it’s so expensive!”. Well, it might be a lot of initial cost but if you break down the price of your share with the number of weeks you will be getting produce it’s not to bad! Just take a look at this breakdown: $550 for a share divided by a 14 week season is less than $40 per week (For FRESH, locally grown Food…). Now keep in mind that the season is potentially longer than 14 weeks so it could even be less!!!!!!

NO GMO’s

At Little Greens we will not knowingly use any GM Seeds or plants.

MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

STAY INFORMED! The single most important responsibility of all members is to educate themselves about the workings of our CSA program by thoroughly reading through the website and reading our social media posts to stay up to date.

PICK UP YOUR SHARE! As a CSA member, you must pick up your share on your chosen pick-up day during the pick-up window. To ensure the freshest produce we will only harvest prior to your designated pick-up day. Please choose from one of our available pick-up sites and days (please see “Pick-Up days” below). You must pick up your share on the day you have chosen each week. If you cannot pick up your share, you are welcome to have a friend or neighbor pick up your share that week. Please just email or call us with their name. Our goal is to have you enjoy your share each week – we will work with you if you give us enough advance notice. If you do not pick up your share and make no arrangements to have someone else pick it up for you then your forfeit your share that week and it will become the farm’s. There is no refund for unclaimed shares.

BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE PROGRAM!
We encourage all of our members to become active participants in the CSA Program. You can do this by staying up to date with the news from the farm (by keeping up on our social media @farmslittlegreens, IG, FB) and keeping in touch with the farm. Communication is critical! Please e-mail or text us often with your comments, suggestions and concerns. This is one of the great perks of CSA- you can actually talk to the farmer who grew your food! We also invite you to visit the farm to see just where your food comes from!



3. OUR SHARES
Little Greens Farms CSA Program is a 14-week membership share. Our season begins roughly the middle of June, and perhaps earlier weather permitting.

This share contains a variety of vegetables with 5+ items weekly. All of which are grown without synthetic pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Due to the nature of farming, the first share boxes of the year may have less than what they will normally contain throughout the season.

Pickup Day and Time

Pick-Up days are very important. To ensure the freshest produce we will only harvest prior to your designated pick-up day. Please choose from one of our two available pick-up days. You must pick up your share on the day you have chosen each week. If you do not pick up your share and make no arrangements to have someone else pick it up for you then your forfeit your share that week and it will become property of the farm. There is no refund for unclaimed shares.
